Dr. Mathew Joys - Media Chair (Las Vegas)Chairperson

Dr. Mathew Joys is an accredited journalist by US Press Agency and has proved his presence in the media field. He is keen to analyze current affairs and write articles in Indian and American media as a regular reporter and columnist in Malayalam and English publications in the USA, Canada, and United Kingdom. He also works as Executive Editor of JaiHind Vartha, a columnist and editorial team of The UNN English News Portal. He has been Vice Chairman, Board Secretary, and Director of the Indo-American Press Club.

Among the many publications, his three books earned recognition.

Recent Awards & Recognitions include: Limca Books of Records Award – Poetry, Gandhi Peace Global Essay Competition Award on Drug-Free Kerala (2021), First Prize Winner of Kerala Literary Society Manay Poetry Competition (2022) and Fokana 2020-22 Literary Award for Best Perspective on Social Media (2022)

Parveen Chopra (NY)Vice Chair

With a creditable work record of three decades in three continents, this media maven calls himself a curator, not just editor.

Besides his zest for founding well-regarded publications in the US and India, New York-based Parveen Chopra has a unique expertise in spirituality and holistic health. In India, he founded Life Positive, a body-mind-spirit magazine.

In the US, he worked for The South Asian Times weekly as Managing Editor for 13 years after it was founded. He also founded One World Under God, an interfaith journal. Earlier in Australia he worked for The Indian Down Under monthly.


Seema Balasubramanian – A Solicitor from Sydney, Australia who has worked in various legal firms in Australia, U K and India. She is also a registered Solicitor in England and Wales and practised at High Court of Kerala.

She has recently participated in Wigs 4 Kids by Ella Wigmakers Campaign and fundraised for ‘Kids with Cancer Foundation’ by donating her hair.

She is a public speaker and won titles in the International Toastmasters club and area level Speech Contests during the term 2021-2022. She has conducted many programs to empower Youth and Women, and also involved in numerous activities with Rotary Clubs and other Non Profit Organisations to spread legal awareness in the Society.


George Kallivayalil has been a senior journalist and Chief of Bureau and Associate Editor of Deepika newspaper in Delhi. He became the youngest Resident Editor in the Malayalam newspaper industry after getting a triple promotion at a very young age. Widely traveled he was privileged to cover Pope Francis on many of his foreign tours including the visits abroad of the lndian President and the Prime Minister. He held positions as secretary of the Trivandrum Press Club and South Asian Media Commission. He was also a member of the Kerala University Senate and President of the Rotary club of Kalamassery.Presently he is the global President of Global Malayali Press Club (GMPC).


Dr. Darsana Manayath Sasi is a faculty member in the Department of Asian Studies, Universi- ty of Texas at Austin. She has accomplished herself in imparting Malayalam language studies for American born Keralites. Dr. Darsana with the help of Dr. Davis, the HOD of the department & the university managed to institute a permanent endowment scholarship program for the undergraduate, Hon. & research programs in Malayalam language & litera- ture by raising funds for the same. Dr. Darsana recently published the Malayalam translation of Michelle Obama’s memoir, ‘BECOMING’. She is the program convenor of the LANA regional convention 2022 which is to be conducted at South Asian Institute campus, Austin, Texas. She has a keen interest in South Indian folklore forms.


Writer and Co-ordinator of environment awareness drama and drug abuse awareness dramas presented in various stages for the state Government Departments and other Institutions.

Scripted and produced a number of documentaries and short films.

Written and published more than a dozen of books mostly novels including The Odd Spy, Shadow of Truth, Odyssey of Angela and Vrika Theo. Conducted studies and surveys in the vast basin of the dead river Varattar and submitted river reclamation project report to Government of Kerala and did the follow up for 15 years till the river was reclaimed in 2017. Now co-ordinating the project to donate 10 houses to the hapless.


Dr. Chalil is a global healthcare executive, and was recently awarded the prestigious Top Physician of the Year for 2022 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Dr. Chalil was the honored recipient of the AAPI Presidential Award (2015) and the Boehringer President’s Club Award for 2011, 2014, and 2015. He is also the Chairman of the Complex Health Systems Advisory BWayne Huizenga College of Business, Dr. Chalil is the former Chairman of the Indo-American Press Club. His new book, Beyond the COVID-19 Pandemic: Envisioning a Better World by Transforming the Future of Healthcare, is on Amazon’s best sellers list.


Anil Augustine is an Atlanta, resident. Professionally he is a management consultant in Human Resource, Public Relations, Media and International Trade domains.

Currently, He is the Managing Director of the enterprise advisory firm, which he manages independently. His firm assists entrepreneurs by providing expertise into bilateral global trade, Media, PR & HR avenues.

A social service enthusiast, Anil devotes his time and resources for community service organizations based in Atlanta and Samanwaya Charitable Trust.


Thampanoor Mohan hails from a strong print,digital and media background as a result of having served for more than 50 years in this field in lndia and North America. A renowned photojournalist,writer and philanthropist ,he is well known among the lndian literary circles for his contributions to the community. He began telecasting malayalam programs through Kairali channel from North America. His affiliations with various regional media and network- ing outlets have proved his dedication and support to his community in lndia and abroad.
